Monday

  • Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann (ABC, 8pm) Series Premiere – Drew Lachey joins two of the judges from Dancing With the Stars to create two singing and dancing teams to compete in this six week series, I didn’t get Dancing with the Stars either.
  • Medium (NBC, 10pm) Season Premiere – Things were shook up employment-wise for Allison and her husband, with her out of the DA’s office how will she solve her creepy vision mysteries?

Tuesday

  • Bones/House (Fox, 8/9pm) – See where it all began with the pilots of these two fun shows.
  • One Tree Hill (CW, 8/9pm) Season Premiere – The fifth season moves forward four years to try to beat the high school turned college show crisis and get the cast to about their appropriate ages.
  • People’s Choice (CBS, 9pm) – The people, they pick their picks for tv and movies as Queen Latifah hosts, nobody really cares what the people think do they?

Wednesday

  • Law & Order: CI (NBC, 9pm) Season Premiere – The show banished to cable returns in reruns for its 7th season to the network where it started, this is the one L&O that bugs me, mostly D-Onofrio who I used to like.
  • Cashmere Mafia (ABC, 10pm) – The show stops off in its regular timeslot.

Thursday

  • My Name is Earl/30 Rock (NBC, 8/8:30pm) – Ok these are the last ones we get for who knows how long, enjoy.
  • Grey’s Anatomy (ABC, 9pm) – Ditto on last in the queue.

Friday

  • Catch up on some repeats (Grey’s/Cashmere Mafia on ABC) or catch some new eps of shows (Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight, Numb3rs on CBS or Friday Night Lights and Las Vegas on NBC) or maybe just go out and see a movie.

Saturday

  • If you didn’t get away from the television last night definitely get away tonight, unless you’ve got some netflix stacking up there’s nothing on.

Sunday

  • Golden Globes (NBC, 8pm) – Many thanks will be given out to the Hollywood Foreign Press for tv and movies this evening.
  • Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Fox, 8pm) Series Premiere – I haven’t heard anything about this but am intrigued and glad that Summer Glau from Firefly is going to protect them.
  • Commanche Moon (CBS, 9pm, also Tues/Wed) Miniseries – Prequel to the Lonesome Dove miniseries though I hear this one doesn’t live up to the previous.
  • Rock of Love 2/Scott Baio 46… and Pregnant (VH1, 9/10pm) Season Premieres – I got hooked on these shows last season, not good but I was truly addicted to Rock of Love.
  • Masterpiece: Persuasion (PBS, Check Your Local Listings) – This starts off a little Jane Austen theme for the now Masterpiece/Masterpiece Theater I always mean to watch them and this is supposed to be good.

  • Dick Clark’s Primetime/New Year’s Rockin’ Eve (ABC, 10pm/11:35pm) – Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest count it down with Mylie Cyrus and Fergie among others.
  • New Year’s Eve Live (Fox, 11pm) – Cat Deely counts it down with some partiers and performers.
  • New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly (NBC, 11:35) – Carson counts it down with Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys.

Tuesday

  • Tournament of Roses Parade (8/11am, Check Your Local Listings) – The floats they are a covered with flowers…
  • Bowl Games (Check Your Local Listings) –  I went to a college without a football team so I didn’t even care then.
  • The Biggest Loser (NBC, 8pm) Season Premiere – Ok we did just have one of these but this one is apparently pairs.
  • Just for Laughs (ABC, 8:30pm) Season Premiere – This is the second season of this hidden camera prank show.
  • According to Jim (ABC, 9pm) Season Premiere – Is this show still on?

Wednesday

  • Wife Swap (ABC, 8pm) Season Premiere – More family care bordering on child abuse as pageant family and feminist family collide.
  • Law & Order (NBC, 9pm) Season Premiere – The gang returns with another cast shuffle and more cases ‘ripped from the headlines.’
  • Super Nanny (ABC, 9pm) Season Premiere – The nanny saves a family caring for 3 year old twins.
  • Late Night Talk Shows (Check Your Local Listings) – As it stands the gang will be back on the air, so far with only Letterman’s company (that owns his and Craig Ferguson’s shows) negotiating a deal with the writers while the rest of the crews will be winging it.

Thursday

  • Celebrity Apprentice (NBC, 9pm) Season Premiere – Fourteen ‘celebrities’ take their turn getting fired.

Friday

  • 1 vs 100 (NBC, 8pm) Season Premiere – I don’t really get this show but Barry Williams from the Brady Bunch and Dawn Wells from Gilligan’s Island are stopping by.

Saturday

  • New Hampshire Presidential Debates (ABC, 7pm) – Back to back debates showcase the republican and democratic candidates.

Sunday

  • American Gladiator (NBC, 9pm) Series Premiere Ok there is a part of me that really wants a ridiculous remake of this show about regular folks competing against ‘gladiators’ to be a success but I won’t watch.
  • Cashmere Mafia (ABC, 10pm) Series Premiere – Lucy Liu and three successful gal pals deal with work and life, I’m sure whilst sipping cocktails and wearing good clothes.

  • Clash of the Choirs (NBC, 8pm – m-th) Premiere – Some songsters take some choirs and get them geared up to let loose like only a choir can do.
  • Duel (ABC, 8pm – m-f and sun) Premiere – Six part series of game shows where people compete against each other in some sort of trivia.

Tuesday

  • The Biggest Loser (NBC, 9pm) Season Finale – The final weigh in will tell us who has won the most by losing the most.
  • Saving Grace (TNT, 10pm) Season Finale – Didn’t I just write about this show coming back?

Wednesday

  • A Holiday Celebration at Ford’s Theater (ABC, 10pm) – Apparently this is an annual event where the first family watches some folks like Wynonna perform.
  • Frosty the Snowman/Frosty Returns (CBS, 8pm) – Just can’t get enough of that snowman.

Thursday

  • CSI (CBS 8/9pm) – On a night of mostly repeats you can get reacquainted with this season’s opener of the miniature killer taking Sara.

Friday

  • Home for the Holidays (CBS, 8pm) – This one has Fergie, James Blunt and Sheryl Crow singing to raise awareness for foster care.
  • The Next Great American Band (Fox, 9pm) Season Finale – No matter what, those Clark Brothers have a great career ahead of them!

Saturday

  • Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events (ABC, 8pm) – Jim Carey helps bring this children’s book to life.
  • Elf (CBS, 8pm) – Will Farrell is endearing and funny in this fish out of water tale of an elf hitting the real world.

Sunday

  • Elmo’s Christmas Countdown (ABC, 7pm) – Celebs and muppets, how could that be bad?
  • Story of Santa Claus (CW, 8pm) – An animated telling of Nicholas Claus.

  • The Hills (MTV, 10pm) Season Finale – So the people on this show are the ones that I don’t recognize in all the tabloid magazines.
  • I Want a Dog for Christmas Charlie Brown (ABC, 8pm) – Linus and Lucy’s little brother hangs with Snoopy and his brother Spike.

Tuesday

  • Shrek the Halls/Winnie the Pooh and Christmas, Too (ABC, 9/8:30pm) – Shrek again, then Pooh and the gang have some snow time fun.
  • Life on Mars (BBC, 8pm) Season Premiere – This is apparently the second and final season of a guy thrown back in time trying to get home kind of show.

Wednesday

  • ANTM (CW, 8pm) Season Finale! – Who will it be? I still say Saleisha, but let’s be serious I only care about the journey.
  • Kid Nation (CBS, 8pm) Season Finale – I haven’t heard anything about this show since the start so I think maybe no kids were maimed.
  • Kitchen Nightmares (Fox, 9pm) Season Finale – I didn’t really follow how this worked so I’m not sure what the finale involves.
  • Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants (CW, 9pm – future 8pm) Series Premiere – A house full of mother/daughter beauty contestants, Queer Eye’s Carson is one of the judges as one team gets voted of each week.
  • Dirty Sexy Money (ABC, 10pm) – Catch it if you missed the pilot of the best soap in night time tv, they do the cheese factor to a T (what does that actually mean?).

Thursday

  • Saturday Night Live Christmas (NBC, 9:30pm) – As they keep moving with the compilation shows the holidays seem like a logical choice.

Friday

  • It’s a Wonderful Life (NBC, 8pm) – This holiday classic always gets a showing, well, around the holidays.

Saturday

  • Chuck (NBC, 8pm) – Catch the pilot episode if you didn’t get on board from the start of this fun series.

Sunday

  • Survivor: China (CBS, 8pm) Season Finale – Followed by reunion show at 10pm, this ultimate tribal council will crown a new ultimate Survivor.
  • Dexter (Show 9pm) Season Finale – So this serial killer series comes to the end of season 2.
  • Extras (HBO, 9pm) Series Finale – With Ricky Gervais, he is a wannabe actor trying to make it, and how does it all end?

  • Heroes (NBC, 9pm) Finale – This is the wrap up of the first of what were supposed to be three arcs, pending strike resolution, finale may be more accurate than intended.
  • Saving Grace (TNT, 10pm) – She’s back and things are getting stormy, is it just the tornadoes hitting Oklahoma?

Tuesday

  • Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (CBS, 8pm) – I think this is how we were told being different was a good thing, Rudolph is much more forgiving of childhood torment than most…
  • Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show (CBS, 10pm) – I’ve never actually watched one of these but I believe it’s models in underwear and maybe some wings.
  • Beauty and the Geek (CW, 8pm) Season Finale – And the winner is…

Wednesday

  • Santa Claus is Coming to Town (ABC, 8pm) – I really should make a new holiday animation or claymation special since they seem to fill the season.
  • Life (NBC, Mon and Wed 10pm) – A special two part episode starts on Monday and ends in its regular slot, as our weird detective hunts down pieces in his own mystery.

Thursday

  • Barbara Walters: 10 Most Fascinating People of 2007 (ABC, 10pm) – Every year she throws in a mix of folks with some popular entertainers and you know, they have a moment.
  • ER (NBC, 10pm) 300th Episode – Peter Fonda guests on a tour through former patients while Luka and Abby deal with their own drama.

Friday

  • Frosty the Snowman/Frosty Returns (CBS, 8/8:30pm) – Really I need to get moving on this new holiday project.
  • Movies Rock! A Celebration of Music in Film (CBS, 9pm) – Some song singing should be shown.

Saturday

  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas (ABC, 8pm) – This one is the movie, though 2008 will be my year for claymation…
  • Saturday Night Live: The Best of Will Farrell (NBC, 9:30pm) – I do find Farrell funny in some of his stuff, but I think I dropped SNL during his years.

Sunday

  • Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom’s ‘For One More Day’ (ABC, 9pm) – Washed up Michael Imperioli spends a day with dead mother Ellen Burstyn.

Monday

  • The Bachelor (ABC, 10pm) Season Finale – Two weeks touting the bachelor, really? Anyhoo, you get this, he picks a gal and they break up doing promotional appearances… ‘After the Rose’ show airs on Tuesday at 10pm.
  • Weeds (SHO, 10pm) Season Finale – I’ve started making my list of cable shows to get on dvd if this pesky strike keeps up, I like ML Parker, and is this the one that one of those Olsens joined?

Tuesday

  • A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (ABC, 8pm) – I can taste the turkey and mashed taters already. Followed by ‘He’s a Bully Charlie Brown’ to round out the hour.

Wednesday

  • Pushing Daisies (ABC, 8pm) – Just when I wondered if this show could be any more delightful they get a guest spot from Paul Reubens (the artist formerly known as Pee Wee Herman).
  • Dirty Sexy Money (ABC, 10pm) – All may not go smoothly for the Darlings as a couple of meetings are arranged, Tripp and Simon Elder and Patrick’s wife and his transsexual mistress.

Thursday

  • Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade/National Dog Show (NBC, 9am/noon) – I don’t recall watching the parade in recent years but I assume it’s all floats and bands and whatnot, you know, a parade, but I do try to catch the dog show, though I always just root for the big fuzzy breeds I like best.
  • Ugly Betty/Grey’s Anatomy (ABC, 8pm/10pm) – Buffy alum night as Faith/Eliza Dushku gets ugly and Oz/Seth Green pops by Grey’s for what I can only hope will be some funny.
  • October Road (ABC, 10pm) Season Premiere – Sappy, and in my opinion unwatchable (though I admittedly stopped watching), show where boy returns home after writing first novel, somewhat unflatteringly, about his small home town and its inhabitants and comes to wonder if his best gal, that he ditched, is raising his kid.

Friday

  • Numbers (CBS, 10pm) – Christopher Lloyd guests for the makings of a little Taxi reunion with he and Judd Hirsch, and I’m sure there’s some math.

Saturday

  • Battlestar Galactica: Razor (SciFi, 9pm) – A movie that explains some of the haps from the series that I hear great things about but have yet to start the dvds.

Sunday

  • The Simpsons (Fox, 8pm) – Sideshow Bob’s family nods to Friasier as Kelsey Grammer is joined by Frasier’s Niles/David Hyde Pierce and Martin/John Mahoney.
  • Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (ABC, 7pm) 100th show – Ty and the gang help a family of ten by doing something extreme.
  • Action Sports (NBC, 11am – check your local listing) – Highlights of the season’s best competitions in the Dew Action Sports tour for skateboarding, fmx, and bmx.

  • The Bachelor (ABC, 10pm) – The women tell all, probably won’t muck it all up before he picks his bride in the finale.

Tuesday

  • Bones (Fox, 8pm) – Timecapsules and murder, I’m nostalgic to visit the class of ’87! woo hoo!
  • Reaper (CW, 9pm) – What’s Gladys the demon do when she’s not at the dmv? And is the devil doing something evil?

Wednesday

  • Project Runway (Bravo, 10pm) Season Premiere – Fifteen new folks compete to try to stich their way to success.
  • Private Practice (ABC, 9pm) – Looks like there’s some nookie gonna be going on, bets on the longevity of Addison and Pete vs. Violet and Cooper…

Thursday

  • CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS, 9pm) – Boring Jorja Fox leaves the team, who will Grissom inappropriately sleep with now?
  • It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (Fx, 10pm) Season Finale – I am amused by this group of serious misfits and their totally inappropriate behavior.

Friday

  • Women’s Murder Club (ABC, 9pm) – This is it’s regularly scheduled time but don’t miss it’s Thursday night showing (10pm) with Angie’s real life guy Jason Sehorn (and yes I should put this under Thursday but there’s really nothing of interest on Friday).

Saturday

  • MadTV (Fox, 11pm) – Former castmates return for the 300th episode but since I don’t ever watch this show I couldn’t tell you who’s who.

Sunday

  • American Music Awards (ABC, 8pm) – Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel there might be some life input into one of the many music awards shows.

  • Chuck (Fox, 8pm) – Chuck meets another agent who reminds him of himself, let’s hope he’s as charming.

Tuesday

  • Nip/Tuck (FX, 10pm) Season Premiere – Ok, it’s another FX show that I don’t watch, but it’s in my Netflix queue.
  • It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown (ABC, 8pm) – Tis the season, can’t beat the classics.

Wednesday

  • Criminal Minds (CBS, 9pm) – Since Mandy Patinkin left there’s been a void and this week Joe Mantegna picks up the reins of the BAU.
  • Gossip Girl (CW, 9pm) – Repeats already? But at least those of you who missed the pilot get another shot to see Serena rejoin her old friends.

Thursday

  • The Office (NBC, 9pm) – Jim’s ex in real life and on the show Karen comes back, but is it for Jim?
  • My Name is Earl (NBC, 8pm) – They’re doing another round of the gang on the show Cops, the last round was funny, parts 1 & 2 (8-9pm).

Friday

  • Men in Trees and 20/20 (ABC, 8 & 10pm) – They’re switching timeslots on these so MIT will go at 8:00….

Saturday

  • Law & Order: SVU (NBC, 10pm) – See where it all began, with the pilot rerunning.
  • Austin City Limits (PBS, Check your local listings) – If you haven’t caught this good series of live band performances check out this week with Wilco.

Sunday

  • Simpsons (Fox, 8pm) – The annual halloween Treehouse of Horrors, too bad it’s after Halloween.
  • The Amazing Race (CBS, 8pm) Season Premiere – I cut off reality shows before this came out but this one is actually critically acclaimed, showing pairs of folks traveling with challenges round the globe

  • Viva Laughlin (CBS, 10/21, 8pm) – This is the regular timeslot for anyone who made it through the premiere or doesn’t believe everyone that it’s just plain bad, it is.

Monday

  • Heroes (NBC, 10/22, 9pm) – I’m actually behind on this, but this week Kristin Bell (Veronica Mars herself for those of you who missed my earlier notations) is starting her run and I’m dieing to know what her power will be, I’ve been avoiding all references to the show.

Tuesday

  • Damages (FX, 10/23, 10pm) Season Finale – I did watch the first couple of episodes as they replayed on network and couldn’t get into it but some folks do, it’s been renewed for another season.

Wednesday

  • Phenom (NBC, 10/24, 8pm) Series Premiere – Ok, this is where Uri Geller and Criss Angel, two people that I really don’t get, look for more people that, what? do some sort of magic-like things.

Thursday

  • Scrubs (NBC, 10/25, 8pm) Season Premiere – At the end of last season JD was stressing over fatherhood and Elliot was stressing over getting married, so as she and JD got cot cozy, we were left wondering will they or won’t they, again.

Friday

  • Las Vegas (NBC, 10/26, 10pm) – Apparently TC and Rick from Magnum are making a guest appearance now that Tom Selleck has joined the cast, but where is Higgins?

And we’re also getting going on the World Series (Fox, 10/24, 10/25, 10/27, 10/28, 10/29*, 10/31*, 11/1* – check your local listings) I don’t actually watch or follow baseball, though I’m not opposed to drinking a beer at a game, but thought I’d throw this in the mix.

  • Samantha Who? (ABC, Mon 10/5, 9:30pm) – Pilot. Christina Applegate wakes from a coma not knowing who she is, but maybe that’s a good thing as she starts to discover the not so nice gal she was.

Monday

  • The Price is Right (CBS, Mon 10/15, check your local listings) – I’ve never been a real watcher but Drew Carey taking over seemed noteworthy.

Thursday

  • Viva Laughlin (CBS, Thurs 10/18, 10pm – preview, second ep as official premiere on 10/21, 8pm) – Pilot So this is the one where they sing along to popular songs whilst dealing with gambling and at least one murder mystery…

Friday

  • Next Great American Band (Fox, Fri 10/19, 8pm) – Pilot American Idol but for bands, I am mildly interested in this, was initially into Idol and was a big fan of Rock Star, shouldn’t stick with it but maybe worth a glance.
