• Das Boot (Hulu) Series Premiere, Monday – Limited reviews seem quite mixed (some excellent) for this sequel to the film has the maiden voyage of a U-612 in the fall of 1942.
• Grand Hotel (ABC) Series Premiere, Monday, 10pm – Based on a Spanish series Eva Longoria EPs this drama set at the last family-owned hotel in Miami Beach looks like a very summer series.
• Reef Break (ABC) Series Premiere, Thursday, 10pm – No advanced word on this show where island intrigue is promised with Poppy Montgomery as a former thief turned fixer for the governor.
• Final Life (Am) Series Premiere, Friday – Targeted to Japanese audiences this offers crime solving with a “Special Unit” within the police force
• Mr Iglesias (Net, Friday) Series Premiere – “Hilarious” high school teacher tries to make a difference.

Excited for the final season of Elementary to return on Thursday but otherwise happy to clear out some of the shows for a little catch up.

• Blood and Treasure (CBS) Series Premiere, Tuesday, 10pm – Indiana Jones-esque Antiquities expert and art thief find themselves on the hunt for a terrorist and caught up in an ancient battle, not supposed to be all that which could be fine for summer.
• All in the Family and The Jeffersons (NBC) Wednesday, 8pm – Jimmy Kimmel and Norman Lear host a live presentation of original scripts with actors including Woody Harrelson as Archie Bunker and Jamie Foxx as George Jefferson.
• Name of the Rose (Sund) Series Premiere, Thursday, 10pm – Based on the Umberto Eco book which I read and have no recollection of about monk murders, has a promising case with John Turturro among others.
• What/If (Net) Series Premiere, Friday – Described as a neo-noir social thriller, Renee Zellweger among others.
• French Open (Tennis) – First round play kicks off on Sunday with some Memorial Day coverage on NBC on Monday.

Took a week off so I’m a little behind on tv as things continue to wrap up. I didn’t even get in any movies on my flight but did catch a couple of episodes of Downton Abbey and Sabrina. More streaming stuff to consider.

• LA’s Finest (Spectrum) Series Premiere, Monday – Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba pick up the thread of the Bad Boys franchise as cop partners that might not be revolutionary but leads might be enough of the right notes, though would that mean I would need to know what Spectrum is.
• Catch-22 (Hulu) Miniseries Premiere, Friday – George Clooney is bringing the Heller novel to life with Kyle Chandler, and Hugh Laurie, worth a watch.

Not a lot of tv progress this last week but excited for the return of iZombie Thursday, though it may be the final season fun to see where the Zombie world will go.

• Dead to Me (Net) Series Premiere, Friday – Who could pass up a dark comedy with Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini as they bond over suffering from tragic loss.
• Tuca & Bertie (Net) Series Premiere, Friday – Tucan bird women living in their apartment buildings, the creator coming from Bojack makes me want to give it a go.
• Undercover (Net) Series Premiere, Friday – A fictional crime series inspired by true events of a ecstasy producer encroached on by undercover agents.
• The Spanish Princess (Starz) Series Premiere, Sunday, 8pm – Navigating the royal lineage of London with an eye on the throne.

• Bonding (Net) Series Premiere, Wednesday – No word at all on former high school BFFS reconnect years later in this comedy
• Chambers (Net) Series Premiere, Friday – No early good buzz on the supernatural mystery surrounding the heart a donor receives.
• Yankee (Net) Series Premiere, Friday – The story of a young entrepreneur from the US who crosses into Mexico and became a drug lord, to protect his family, who can keep track of all the Netflix series?
• The Red Line (CBS) Series Premiere, Sunday, 9pm – Three families cross paths following the shooting of a black doctor by a white cop in Chicago, by Greg Berlanti and Ava Duvernay which might make it worth a look.
