new and noteworthy tv: 9/30-10/6

Ironside

Ok I’m not that excited about anything this week, so if it was a new comedy or drama I underlined, take that with a grain of salt…

Monday

  • iHeart Radio Music Festival (CW, 8pm, Tues) – Music and stuff.
  • We Are Men (CBS, 8:30pm) Series Premiere – Tony Shalhoub, Jerry O’Connell, and Kal Penn welcome newcomer bachelor into the mostly formerly coupled singles apartment complex, some funny guys but not so funny.
  • Monsters Inside Me (AnPl, 9pm) Season Premiere – Is it the flu or something far worse…

Tuesday

  • 30 for 30 (ESPN, 5pm) Season Premiere – Surfing pioneer.
  • Dukes of Haggle (Disc, 7pm) Series Premiere – Guys who haggle?

  • Ironside (NBC, 10pm) Series Premiere – Blair Underwood reprises this detective role, still good looking his physically and psychologically damaged role.

Thursday

  • Beyond Scared Straight (A&E, 7pm) Season Premiere – Beyond.
  • Society X With Laura Ling (E!, 7pm) Series Premiere – Designer drugs.
  • Scandal (ABC, 8/10pm) Season Premiere – Moments in the earlier slot pause for Grey’s then premiere it up, I don’t watch but she’s supposed to be good in this sudsy drama, she definitely dresses well.
  • The Vampire Diaries/The Originals (CW, 8/9pm) Season/Series Premieres – I know successful shows spinoff but if I don’t watch the original am I interested in the French Quarter version?
  • The Millers (CBS, 8:30pm) Series Premiere – Another family comedy with some good peeps but questionable reviews I’m willing to see if Beau Bridges, Margo Martindale and Will Arnett can bring it.
  • Welcome to the Family/Sean Saves the World (NBC, 8:30/9pm) Series Premieres – I caught an earlier viewing of the bland mixed families comedy and will give Sean Hayes a shot as a newly full time parent.

Friday

  • Dead or Alive (NatGeo, 6pm) Series Premiere – Grizzly woods.
  • Cassadee Pope (CMT, 10pm) Series Premiere – Rise to stardom?

  • The Paradise (PBS, 9pm) Series Premiere – The latest Masterpiece Classic.

The procrastinator lists items that may not be on your regular season pass, though notation does not imply recommendation other than those underlined. Times noted are typically PST.
