new and noteworthy tv: 1/30-2/5

Hmm, maybe it’s a good week to get back to dvds, or streaming, or whatever its called these days…

Monday

  • The Amandas (Style, 8pm) Series Premiere – Amanda and her minions organize.
  • RuPaul’s Drag Race (Logo, 9pm) Season Premiere – Elvira guest judges.

Tuesday

  • Sorority Girls/Undercover Princes (TLC, 9/10pm) Series Premieres – If I understand these reality shows, US sorority girls and actual Princes go to England to find girls.
  • Tosh.0/Kay & Peele (Com, 10/10:30pm) Season/Series Premiere – More Tosh and more sketch comedy.

Wednesday

  • Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials (CBS, 8pm) – Because there won’t be enough talk about commercials on Sunday.
  • Beast Tracker (Disc, 9pm) Series Premiere – Starting with gators.

Thursday

  • I Just Want My Pants Back (MTV, 11pm) Series Premiere – A sitcom and since its MTV it focuses on a twentysomething slacker, who apparently slept with a chick who stole his pants.

Friday

  • Who Do You Think You Are? (NBC, 8pm) Season Premiere – More celebrity genealogy.
  • Man Caves (DIY, 9pm) Season Premiere – Makeovers dude style.
  • Killer Trials (ID, 10pm) Series Premiere – A look at more true crimes.

Saturday

  • Candice Tells All (HGTV, 8pm) Season Premiere – More home transformations.
  • How to Rock (Nick, 8:30pm) Series Premiere – Popular no more after braces and glasses, a new band and some heartwarming hijinks will solve that.
  • NFL Honors (NBC, 9pm) – Because being in the NFL has no glory.
  • Unfaithful (OWN, 9pm) Season Premiere – I’m not sure looking at people unfaithful in their marriages hits the tone I think of as Oprah.
  • Renovation Realities (DIY, 9pm) Season Premiere – Renovations are hard.

Sunday

  • Puppy Bowl (AnPl, noon) – I don’t know that the puppies understand the rules but they’re always cute.
  • Superbowl (NBC, 3pm) – Patriots vs. Giants.
  • The Voice (NBC, 7pm) Season Premiere – I kind of liked this last season but after not having watched any X Factor or the current early Idol rounds I may just be music saturated.
  • Jimmy Fallons’s Super Bowl Special (NBC, 10pm) – Apparently it’s a special.

The procrastinator lists items that may not be on your regular season pass, though notation does not imply recommendation other than those underlined. Times noted are typically PST.
